Evidence-based research

Developed over a decade by Simon Rountree, with continuous updates based on the most rigorous and extensive academic research from the world's leading universities (such as Harvard, Stanford, Pennsylvania, Melbourne, California and Oxford).

We have also included evidence-based findings from the most highly regarded researchers such as Dr Martin Seligman, Dr Alex Linley, Prof Chris Peterson, Dr Robert Biswas-Diener, Prof Carol Dweck, Prof Barbara Fredrickson, Dr Karen Reivich, Dr Andrew Shatte and Prof Sonia Lyubomirsky.

This unique program helps people (and therefore their organisations) be more resilient, optimistic, productive, efficient and happier.

The principles of ORANGES have been turned into an easy to read narrative. Simon's journey has been accepted by one of Australia’s leading publishing houses and is due for release in 2018.

About the author

Simon started his working life as a pre-school teacher and has moved through to positions in both the private and government sectors. For more than 25 years, he has worked in the not-for-profit sector undertaking various management roles with organisations such as the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Starlight Children's Foundation and with Camp Quality.

During his time with Camp Quality, he took the organisation from the verge of bankruptcy to become Australia's most trusted children's charity that now provides cancer support and information to more than 250,000 children each year.

Under Simon's Leadership, Camp Quality Won Numerous Awards,
Including Being Awarded Australia's Most Trusted Children's Charity 2012-16

Simon moved Camp Quality to adopt a unique organisational culture built around change management, optimism, resilience, fun and innovation through its own program called ORANGES.

This measurable wellbeing program, based on the science and philosophies of positive psychology, has been the backbone of the organisation's growth which has seen direct increases in revenue and service delivery whilst decreasing administration costs, sick leave and staff turnover.

Simon has now created ORANGES as a social business venture and delivers it to businesses throughout Australia with profits going directly to Camp Quality.

He has been featured in numerous books including "Leadership Revelations – How Australians Lead in Crises" (Avril Henry) as well as being a key note speaker for topics such as change management, business innovation and stakeholder engagement.
